Here is the first volume in George R. R. Martin’s magnificent cycle of novels that includes A Clash of Kings and A Storm of Swords. As a whole, this series comprises a genuine masterpiece of modern fantasy, bringing together the best the genre has to offer. Magic, mystery, intrigue, romance, and adventure fill these pages and transport us to a world unlike any we have ever experienced. Already hailed as a classic, George R. R. Martin’s stunning series is destined to stand as one of the great achievements of imaginative fiction.

A GAME OF THRONES

Long ago, in a time forgotten, a preternatural event threw the seasons out of balance. In a land where summers can last decades and winters a lifetime, trouble is brewing. The cold is returning, and in the frozen wastes to the north of Winterfell, sinister and supernatural forces are massing beyond the kingdom’s protective Wall. At the center of the conflict lie the Starks of Winterfell, a family as harsh and unyielding as the land they were born to. Sweeping from a land of brutal cold to a distant summertime kingdom of epicurean plenty, here is a tale of lords and ladies, soldiers and sorcerers, assassins and bastards, who come together in a time of grim omens.

Here an enigmatic band of warriors bear swords of no human metal; a tribe of fierce wildlings carry men off into madness; a cruel young dragon prince barters his sister to win back his throne; and a determined woman undertakes the most treacherous of journeys. Amid plots and counterplots, tragedy and betrayal, victory and terror, the fate of the Starks, their allies, and their enemies hangs perilously in the balance, as each endeavors to win that deadliest of conflicts: the game of thrones.goodreadsbutton

My Thoughts

**PLEASE NOTE THIS REVIEW WILL ALSO BE POSTED ON MY Personal BLOG — ECHOing BOOKS  **

This is the second time I have read this book but the first time that I reviewed this book. I really enjoyed reading this book but I just could not give 5-star rating because there were times that I needed to put the book down and just rest.

The world building was amazing and I could picture myself there, from the start I already had favorite characters. I adore Daenerys, Arya and Jon but I also liked reading Tyrion but what I did not like with all these POV’S is the jump between plots. Though I also normally do not like reading books with many POV’S. I did find myself invested into the Stark family and the fate of each member. This book has also made me want to watch the TV Series instead of just watching some random videos on social media. Will the book be like the TV Series?

This book was well written but did go off on tangents occasionally, though as you know I have already read this book twice so I will most probably reread this again though maybe I should read the rest of the books in the series instead of just rereading. One of the other reasons why I could not give a 5-star was because of so many POV’S we had to read. It was just hard to keep the plot straight at times with it jumping between the POV’S. Though I am hooked and will have to read the other books in the series hopefully within this year!!! I should invest into buying the physical copy for my bookcase.

Then the giant, forbidding Allanon revealed that the supposedly dead Warlock Lord was plotting to destroy the world. My Thoughts

**PLEASE NOTE THIS REVIEW WILL ALSO BE POSTED ON MY personal BLOG — EchOing BOOKS  **

Okay so this book took me awhile to finish as I only read like a few pages each night. The reason for that was because I was in the mood for horror and thriller books. I have also been reading a lot of fanfictions of my favorite TV Series so I kept putting this of.

This book was an all right read as I did enjoy it. Though this is my first time reading this even though this book have been released in 1977 but sadly I kept comparing this book to The Lord of the Rings trilogy which I know I should not have done but I just could not help it.  LOTR is from the same genre though….  This book was nice and action packed but sadly the start of the book was a bit slow for my taste but it did get better after awhile. I just needed to push trough in the beginning.

Shea was my favorite character in this book. He was so stubborn and he never gave up and I loved how loyal he is. He is also very brave, I mean he left the home that he knew all his life to go into danger looking for a Sword that only he could use with virtual strangers as he only knew two of the people at the start of the adventure.

This book had nice character development and the writing was good but sometime there was a bit too much information all at once. All in all this was a good read and I most probably will read again when I am in the mood for fantasy books.

I am so far on all my reviews and feedback on my book reviews. It just so sad but I could not do much about it. First life got so crazy that I could not make time to do reviews and then my computer broke on me. I finally have a new laptop so I can post my reviews! FINALLY!!

Anyway, back to the review…. I absolutely loved this book! I am in the mood where I just cannot finish any romance books but thankfully and luckily this was not one of these books. This is my first time reading any of this authors books but I think I will just go and check out the rest of her books. I completely adored this book and sadly if I enjoy a book then it is always a nice quick read for me. This was such a fun read and the writing was great. I could easily picture myself there.

Now this story is about a small town waitress Heather that met a famous rock star that she new nothing about. I adore reading small town/rock star romance. I love how there is Heather who would treat someone famous, Alex as a regular person and not someone famous. I mean Heather new next to nothing about the band that Alex was in even if the bad was so popular but yet they just clicked and seemed to really like each other. This was hard for them to be together because he was always on tour. I just loved reading this as it was really entertaining.

I would most certainly recommend this book if you love a  realistic romance book with the troubles of long distance relationships. It was just so swoon worthy and the characters just felt so real. This story showed how life is like being famous with the pressure of the paparazzi and how social media will portrayed them.

*ARC provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. *

Okay so this will most probably be a short review as I am currently vey annoyed with my very slow laptop. I had some trouble rating this book I mean I keep jumping between ratings but finally I decided on a 3 heart rating. This book was written well but I don’t know I needed a bit more.

Now this story is about Beatrice who had plans to turn the abandoned asylum into a nice artist retreat in a small charming town of Cape Morgan, Maine. Her husband, Josh, cheating on her and him not knowing she knows.  Sadly both has secrets and slowly there lives start to unravel when the child of his affair with a younger woman is kidnapped.

Now like I said before the writing was well done but there where times that I could figure things out before the main character did. I like mystery books that would keep me guessing until the very end and unfortunately for me this was not the one. Though this was a nice quick read for me to pass the time. Though I hate it when a book ends with a abrupt ending and I am not sure if this is felt by other readers but for me the story ending so abruptly and sadly also an anticlimactic ending.

Okay first of all I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read this amazing story. I dont normally read holiday books especially when it’s not even Christmas yet. I can tell you I loved this book. This book was a sweet fluffy romance but wow the emotions. This book made you feel all the emotions that Ella and Seth felt. I felt like I was watching a great Hallmark movie while reading this book.

Now this book is about Ella an art curator who just lost her job as the place was closing. She feels like it is once again the Christmas jinx that strikes again. Ella used to believe in Christmas wishes until she lost her mother when she was still a young child. When she left school, she made sure she left the small town as quickly as possible but now she has to go back to the small sleepy community of Bellepoint, Pennsylvania. Ella has decided to go back to her aunt’s home while she plans to start job hunting but while there, she gets roped into planning the town’s Christmas tree auction. Side by side with her very first love Seth Hamil.

Seth knows that home is where the heart is and for him it has always been the small community. He has been married and widowed. He would like to keep his wife’s memory alive and that is starting with the Christmas tree auction. Seth would not let Ella easily dismiss his wife’s memory. He decided to work together and compromise but still made sure to keep the feel of Christmas. Seth has decided to teach Ella what Christmas feeling is all about. Soon they found out that they still have feelings for each other even though they never actually dated in the past.

I could feel the chemistry between Ella and Seth from the beginning. I felt like I could relate to these characters, and I always love reading books with small town settings. I really hope there would be a sequel maybe with Seth’s sister.  I would totally reread this book and I tell you now to go get yourself a copy when you can and start reading!

My Thoughts
I normally never ask to review a book on a blog tour but let me tell you I am happy I requested to read this Advanced Readers copy.
I want to say thank you to the author, publisher and Xpresso Tours for giving me the chance to read the ARC!!! I can tell you now I enjoyed every moment on this book when ever I found time to read.

This was a quick and very fun read. I loved the steamy parts and there was a lot!! Both of the main characters are rich and very independent. Sad to say this is my first time reading this author but I know now I need to go check out the rest of here books. I love reading romance but lately I need a little spice and this book delivered just that!

I don’t normally like reading a lot of enemies to lovers but when I read the description of the book I know I just to give it a go! I am so glad I did. Now normally my reviews would be a lot longer if I love the book but I have been sick lately that I just find it hard to work on my blog with no energy. I finished the book the weekend and typed out the review the same day but could only post it now sadly.

I loved how Clover became so strong and independent after she was screwed over buy her ex husbands and best friend.  If I was her I would have taken longer to get back on my feet I am sure. Joar or JJ just pulled me in from the I read of him. Both started of on the wrong foot but I am glad they become lovers instead of staying the supposed enemies.

I would reread this book when I want to have quick steamy read if I cannot find any that I like. I would recommend you to go get this book and read it as well. Trust me you will love it.

*ARC provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. *

First of all I want to say thank you to Netgalley and the publisher,  Poisoned Press Pen to give me the opportunity to read this book. This was an okay read for me. I was fist confused with the dual timelines but after awhile I started to enjoy it.

I missed the suspense and the haunting in this story. I have expected a lot more. I felt like the haunting house aspect in this was on the back burner. With the dual timeline aspects I always wonder why we were reading the story of Anna and Isabel and what where the connection with them to Essie. You would only find out the answer later in the book.

Now this book is about Essie Kaur who is a very headstrong women that is studying to become a lawyer. She has been delaying it for a few years for her husband, Sanjay. However she will have to delay that dream once more when she found out she was pregnant. At first she was not happy about this because she never wanted kids – she did decide to keep the baby.

In this book we have read all the sacrifices she has to make for the pregnancy. All the changes she feels her body has to go through. The men don’t go through such changes when they find out there wife is pregnant.

This book was an interesting read and was written well enough. I just needed more suspense. The ending though was quite abrupt for me. Especially when it came to this family curse. The foundations are there to develop this writing style and I would read more books from this author.

From bestselling author Darcy Coates comes Dead of Winter, a remote cabin in the snowy wilderness thriller that will teach you to trust no one. There are eight strangers. One killer. Nowhere left to run.

But when a bitterly cold snowstorm sweeps the region, the small group is forced to take shelter in an abandoned hunting cabin. Despite the uncomfortably claustrophobic quarters and rapidly dropping temperature, Christa believes they’ll be safe as they wait out the storm.

She couldn’t be more wrong.

Deep in the night, their tour guide goes missing…only to be discovered the following morning, his severed head impaled on a tree outside the cabin. Terrified, and completely isolated by the storm, Christa finds herself trapped with eight total strangers. One of them kills for sport…and they’re far from finished. First of all I want to say thank you to Netgalley and the publisher,  Poisoned Press Pen to give me the opportunity to read this book. I have read a few books by Coates and I loved all her books. I am giving this book 3 hearts because it was not fast  enough for my tastes.

This was also not one of the books I am used to read from Coates. I mean I think all the books that I have read from her was all to do about ghosts and hauntings and this one was not. I am not saying that I only love ghost/ hauntings from Coates because I do read other horror and Thrillers.

Christa (the main character) went with her boyfriend to a lodge in the Rocky Mountains for a getaway but it was not the fun and relaxing getaway she expected. It was dangerous and the snowstorm did not help matters either. The small tour group that she travelled with where slowly being murdered one by one and no one knew who the killer was. I liked that I could not guess who the killer was up until the end of the book. Coates kept me wondering who the murderer was. The only one who I did not suspect was Christa but all the others was fair game until they became a victim themselves. Christa kept thinking that none will get out alive and in away she is right.

The ending felt to abrupt for me. I mean you don’t actually know what happened after Christa found out who the killer and after she stopped them. I mean did the police find her?? Did she move on with what happened or did she even get down from the snowy mountain alive. It feels like the story isn’t done for me. I enjoyed the twists and turn of this story and Coates did a wonderful job describing the dangers of a snowstorm.

This was a nice read and I will always look for more books to read from Coates!! She is my go to author when I am in the mood for some horror.

The elves come for two things: war and wives. In both cases, they come for death.

Three-thousand years ago, humans were hunted by powerful races with wild magic until the treaty was formed. Now, for centuries, the elves have taken a young woman from Luella’s village to be their Human Queen.

To be chosen is seen as a mark of death by the townsfolk. A mark nineteen-year-old Luella is grateful to have escaped as a girl. Instead, she’s dedicated her life to studying herbology and becoming the town’s only healer.

That is, until the Elf King unexpectedly arrives… for her.

Everything Luella had thought she’d known about her life, and herself, was a lie. Taken to a land filled with wild magic, Luella is forced to be the new queen to a cold yet blisteringly handsome Elf King. Once there, she learns about a dying world that only she can save.

The magical land of Midscape pulls on one corner of her heart, her home and people tug on another… but what will truly break her is a passion she never wanted.

A Deal with the Elf King is a complete, stand-alone novel, inspired by the tales of Hades and Persephone, as well as Beauty and the Beast, with a “happily ever after” ending. It’s perfect for fantasy romance fans looking for just the right amount of steam and their next slow-burn and swoon-worthy couple.

I never thought I would like this book. I mean my mood lately is so strange. One moment I want fantasy then Horror the Romance so my mood kept jumping around.

It’s getting annoying but yeah the only way for for me to fix this is by finding great reads and this is one of the books I enjoyed. I have had this book on my TBR shelfs for awhile and I kept putting it of but I am glad I took a chance with this.

“I am not made for dreams. I am made to rule.”
“I think you’re made for whatever you want to be.”
― Elise Kova, A Deal with the Elf King

This book has Hades and Persephone vibes though I also felt some Beauty and the Beast vibes. THIS had a cute romantic feeling. The world building was portrayed very well. The two main characters are very interesting and I think they were well developed. Luella kept surprising me with her dedication and her strength was so admirable.

“Kiss me again,” I demand breathlessly. “Kiss me like you did that night in the castle. Let’s give in to this waking dream, Eldas.” “No,” he murmurs. Everything in me shudders at his denial. But then he pulls me toward him, snaring me with the lightest touch imaginable. “I will not kiss you like I did then.” My breath hitches. Through the fan of my lashes I watch him lean forward. “I will kiss you better.”
― Elise Kova, A Deal with the Elf King

I cannot believe that this is the first time reading anything from this author. I loved this captivating story so I will most probably go and check out the other books from this author.

Book Review – A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

The seductive and stunning #1 New York Times bestselling sequel to Sarah J. Maas’s spellbinding A Court of Thorns and Roses .

Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart. Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae, she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people.

As her marriage to Tamlin approaches, Feyre’s hollowness and nightmares consume her. She finds herself split into two different one who upholds her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court, and one who lives out her life in the Spring Court with Tamlin. While Feyre navigates a dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms. She might just be the key to stopping it, but only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future-and the future of a world in turmoil.

Bestselling author Sarah J. Maas’s masterful storytelling brings this second book in her dazzling, sexy, action-packed series to new heights.

goodreadsbutton

This is the second book I have read from this author. This book starts where the previous book left off with Tamlin and Feyre. Not sure how you lit saw this but Tamlin became a ass in this book. Feyre has serious PTSD and how Tamlin handled this in the beginning was all wrong in my eyes.

“I was not a pet, not a doll, not an animal.
I was a survivor, and I was strong.
I would not be weak, or helpless again
I would not, could not be broken. Tamed.”
― Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Mist and Fury

I was actually glad that Rhysand came into the picture with Feyre. I thought I adored the relationship between Tamlin and Feyre in the previous book but I was wrong. Rhysand and Feyre are perfect together.  Like before this story was captivating and I loved reading every moment of this.

“To the people who look at the stars and wish, Rhys.”
Rhys clinked his glass against mine. “To the stars who listen— and the dreams that are answered.”
― Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Mist and Fury

It was written so well. Especially when it came to Feyre feelings. showing all the feelings she had and how Maas portrayed he PTSD that she had. I also adored the night court. Rhysand was so different than how he portrayed all the other courts. I would read this again but it might take me some time to read the next books. I feel like I need a short break from this series even though I loved this book. My feels need a break.

“My friend through many dangers. My lover who had healed my broken and weary soul. My mate who had waited for me against all hope, despite all odds.”
― Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Mist and Fury

There is just only one thing that I can complain about is that this does not feel like a young adult book to me. I feel like this should be more New Adult and that it should not have been marked as YA.
