My Thoughts

This book was real amazing and enticing. This is in Leo/ Jake’s point of view of the first story of this series. I loved books with both the girl and boy’s pov. I like to see what both of them think. This book goes back into the past every once in a while so you must keep updated where you are in the book but I still enjoyed this book. Thats why this book deserves a 6 star rating.

“I don’t know, I’m kinda busy. I’ve got a pity party scheduled for eight o’clock followed by wallowing at nine.”

After he got adopted and moved to a new city away from the love of his live Evie. His life got so messed up, his adopted mom used him, broke him. His mom used him for sex and he was not strong enough to stop her. That is the very reason why he never contacted Evie because he broke the promise and he hated himself because of it. His mother kept using him even after he moved out to collage. The his mom told him that his brother died and that is what caused him to have a car crash. His mom was forcing herself on him again and his farther walked in on them and thats when he understood why his son was like that using drugs and partying. A doctor Fox helped Leo undertsnad and to get past everything. With that he got the courage to find his Evie but he lied to her when he saw her again and when she finds out actually who he was he nearly lost her again.

“~ Jake is my lion, and Leo is my boy, I love both, I need both – Just one or the other doesn’t add up to the complete person that he’s become.~”

The ending was so sweet I loved seeing how he asked her to marry him. He asked her on there roof to marry him and it was just so romantic. Also what he planned to do with that house was just so sweet and caring and I loved that plan so much because the children needs something so special. Foster children needs to know that they are special to and that is exactly what Leo and Evie doing.

“We didn’t know how much love and forgiveness and understanding would be required to make it back on the path we were meant to be in, together. But what we did know was that we were here because we had both been willing to fight; to fight for each other, to fight for ourselves, to fight for love. And that means that despite all the pain that we had endured to be where we are, in the end, love won.

My Thoughts

“Choosing to be with you isn’t a difficult decision, Jacqueline,” he breathed, pulling back one final time to stare into my eyes. “It’s easy. Incredibly easy.”

This book was breathtakingly beautiful. This book was all sexy and sweet and innocent and very steamy all in one go. Tammara knows how to write a story that kept you on your edge of the seat the whole time. This book stars very vivid and in a cruel kin off way where Jacqueline nearly gets raped, but some one saves her from the guy. She never saw him in school but after she nearly was raped she see him now everywhere.

“Love is not the absence of logic
but logic examined and recalculated
heated and curved to fit
inside the contours of the heart”

Lucas knew her from her Econ class and he liked her before she even knew about him, He liked that she was real and not like the rest of the collage girls. Lucas is what you would call a bad boy with tattoos and a lipring but  he is smoking hot. Lucas also has secrets that he kept from Jacqueline because he was scared to loose her like he lost his mom.

Jacqueline was suppose to use him as her rebound guy but somehow she fell in love with him. The plan started off well but it all changed when she could only think about him and where she tries to figure out about his past why he does all the jobs he has. She found out that he was lying to her about the tutor thing but that worked out quite well in the end. When Jacqueline told her best friend about what Buck did to her she was so pissed that she broke up with her boyfriend because her boyfriend did not believe Erin. Erin signed them up for self defenses classes and Lucas was also a teacher there helping girls learn self defense.

“The night we met-I’m not like that guy.” His jaw was rigid.”I know tha-” He placed a finger over my lips, his expression softening.”So I don’t want you to feel pressured. Or overpowered. But I do, absolutely, want to kiss you right now. Badly.”

What I loved about this book is it never got boring. You always wanted to know what will happen to Buck if anybody stopped him. I also loved it that Jacqueline fell in love with two guys but actually those to guys was just one person just different parts of him. What I did not like about it is she went to go and pry about Lucas’s past and she nearly lost him because of it but what I love about Lucas is how protective he is of the people he loves. This book was one of my favorites and I would recommend it to all but just to let you know it is not a dark story there is not a lot of rape if you all think this is all to do about rape then you wrong I really would say this is a nice romantic story of people finding each other.

“I noticed you the first week. Not just because of how pretty you are, though of course, that played into it. It was the way you lean onto your elbows when you ‘re listening in class, when something catches your interest. And when you laugh, it’s never to get attention, it’s just-laughter. The way you obssevively tuck your hair behind your ear on the left side, but let the right side fall down like a screen. And when you ‘re bored, you tap your foot soundlessly and move your fingers on the desktop like you ‘re playing an instrument. I wanted to sketch you.”

Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett had always been one to think out-of-the-box, who knew she wanted something more in life than following the same repetitive patterns and growing old with the same repetitive life story. And she thought that her life was going in the right direction until everything fell apart.

Determined not to dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected night at the hottest club in downtown North Carolina, she makes the ultimate decision to leave the only life she’s ever known, far behind.

With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love.

But with Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought she’d do. He shows her what it’s really like to live out-of-the-box and to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. On their sporadic road-trip he becomes the center of her exciting and daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But will Andrew’s dark secret push them inseparably together, or tear them completely apart?

Due to sexual content and language, this book is recommended for 17+ – Adult Contemporary Women’s – New Adult Fiction

My Thoughts

This book like the first time I read it last year was just as amazing as last year. I loved reading the book the first time and I still love it. I can say this book was sexy, fun read and also heartbreaking at the end and it was sweet. I love to say that I would read it again because I will I don’t have a lot of books that I would reread over and over again but this book is one book that I will always make time to reread again and again.

“Everybody starts out as strangers.”

This book is in both Andrew’s and Camryn’s point of view so you can see what both of them are thinking. Though it’s been told more in Camryn’s point of view so I loved it every time I read Andrews pov because I love to read and see what the guy thinks about the girl. I really loved that Andrew could make Camryn feel alive for the first time in her life. Camryn was broken and her fixed her in a way that no one else could but Andrew had a secret that nearly made Cam loose him. Cam made it the best few weeks of his life and he fell in love with her since the beginning but both of them weren’t ready to be together. Andrew nearly walked away from her before she could say that she wants to be his but it all ended up quite well in the end where they started dating.

“I know you lost your partner in crime, but…I want YOU to be MINE. Maybe WE should travel the world together, Camryn…I know I can’t replace your ex–”
“Andrew…it was always you.”

AT the end of the book I was crying like a baby even though I already new what will happen I still cried. It hurt my heart to read what was happening to the two and Camryn reacted when this happened The letter he wrote for Cam really did break my heart and like before after I finished readying the book I had to stare out in space for a while just to get control over my feelings again. Like I said before this is the best book I have ever read and I would reread it again anytime.

“Never hold back…be sure to do what you want in life, say what you feel and never be afraid to be yourself. Fuck what everybody else thinks. You’re living for you, not them.”

From International Best Selling Romance Novelist, Hope Hughes, comes a gripping, heartfelt tale of two lovers, fighting for the freedom to…

No. Scratch that. Too cheesy.

…two people, torn apart by the tumultuous tides of life, only to discover refuge in…

WTF? What does that even mean? DELETE.

…two people, confused as shit as to where they should be and who they should love and none of this means a damn thing because it’s all lies!

Lies.

I’m not Hope Hughes. I’m not some fierce woman romance machine. Hell, I’m not even a woman.

I’m a liar.

And while I refuse to believe my own BS, deceit masked in heartfelt phrases of love and devotion, I want to make her believe them. Because maybe—just maybe—if she can find the soul within my words, she’ll also be able to find the truth scribbled on my heart.

You see, I once lived for the perfect plot twist.

I just never expected to actually live it.

This is my story. Well, maybe her story. I just wish I could make it our story.

The one I’m still writing.

My Thoughts

Original Review on....

S.L. Jennings has done it again…. She has written another fantastic novel with so much depth and emotion. I loved reading every moment of it and when I finished with this novel I just stared out in front of me for a long time. I did not know what to do next that is how much I loved this novel. I actually never thought I would love this novel so much especially with that very vague blurb. One thing I can tell you is that this is not one of those novels where the couple get together after just a few chapters but it is so much more.

80e9e55dcc0b5a12ae8ec8c23b92a001

Now this story is about August and Fiona. They have been best friends for a decade and they are everything to each other – from counsellor, confidant, companion and friend. It’s almost like they can’t live without each other and I wish I had friendship like those two. August who is an author does not believe in love, yet he write only romance novels AND Fiona is a hopeless romantic. The first half of the book was so hilarious and trust me it has a lot off laugh out moments. They have amazing banter and hysterical interactions made me cry with laughter. The second half of the book was more emotional and with more angst. My heart could not take all those emotions in this book yet I still could not put it down. It was so addictive. A lot of times I wanted to smack August and the plot of this novel was so not predictable. You could never guess what would happen next.

img_2469

This story is almost told entirely in August’s point of view and Miss Jennings does a wonderful job at portraying him and trust me he was very complex but also has a great empathetic manner. This novel was angsty and frustrating at times but also sweet and sassy. ARC did frustrate me with his view on love and how it only exists in a person’s mind, but yet I fell hopelessly in love with him through each word he spoke. You will feel so much emotions in this book so trust me you will need a box of tissues with you! Fiona is just as amazing and I wished she was real because she sounds like one amazing friend.

fangirling

Ink & Lies is a book that I would savour forever and when I see the paperback in store, I will make sure I buy it I can’t survive with just the ebook. I need that beautiful cover on my bookcase. I will highly recommend this book to everyone I see. Ink & Lies left me floored and trust me it is a tear jerker! Get off your ass and read this book!

WHEN I’M WITH YOU.

whenimwithyoufull-1024x730
whenimwithyou_frontcover_lores-200x300Nate:

It’s nearly impossible to be surrounded by love but not understand it. My parents, my sister, and just about everyone around us has no trouble accepting that love. To give your trust to someone else and believe they would die before hurting you. I’ve witnessed it—I’ve seen the power of it—but I’ve also seen the pain. Because for me, I’ve only loved someone I could never have, and my biggest fear is that by giving her my love, all I would do is ruin her. I should have tried harder, but I’m not sure I can because I only feel complete when I’m with her.

Emberlyn:

The only time I feel like I belong is when he’s near. His infectious smile warms me straight to my bones. Any insecurities I have vanish with just a wink from him. A sliver of his attention makes me feel invincible. But all it took was one drunken night of truths for me to lose everything I had begun to crave. Now, I’m not sure how to move on because I only feel complete when I’m with him.

He said I was too young. I said he was perfect. He said our families wouldn’t understand. I said we could weather any storm. He said he would ruin me. And he was right.

Now let me tell you each time I start reading a book written by Kristen Proby I fall more and more in love with her writing. All her books take me to a very nice happy place! Her characters are all full of love and emotion that you can’t help but be drawn to them! What I love most is this book does not have excess drama. Her books just have enough drama and her plots has amazing balance! Easy Melody is the third novel in the Boudreaux Series and let me tell you I loved them all! It’s always a pleasure to get caught up with the family and friends from previous books especially from the characters from the With me in the Seattle series.

Now Easy Melody is Declan and Callie’s story. Now let me tell you I loved the Boudreaux family, they are just as close as the Montgomery family. They have such warmth and compassion and they all look out for each other. They are what I love in a family. Now this book is sweet and sexy7 with an amazing hero and a sassy heroine. These books are just getting steamier!!! This book was such a quick and easy read which trust me I read this in one day!

Declan is a gentle, sweet-talking. Easy going guy, and a very talented musician just like Leo Nash; who plays in bars around New Orleans. Now let me tell you I learned in this book that Declan has a naughty side, which I loved! It took me completely by surprise: his naughty side! Oh my god what that man does in the bedroom should be illegal! What I did not know is that he was a do-it-yourselfer with him renovating his home. Now his home improvement skills, his project at hand completely appeals to her.

Callie is originally from New Orleans and was raised by a single dad who owned a bar. He became an alcoholic after her mother died, so when Callie is old enough she leaves New Orleans for Denver and starts a new life. Though ten years later she is forced to move back to New Orleans after her farther passed away. He has left her the family bar and she has to figure out what to do with it.  While she is back in New Orleans, her boyfriend and boss Keith calls her and literally breaks up with her and fires her all in one phone call. So realizing she has nothing to go back to, she decided to stay in New Orleans and run the bar with her best friend Adam. This is where she meets Declan and at first she hated him. Declan on the other had was smitten with her the moment he saw her and will not take NO for an answer. He is determined to get to know Callie, in every way he can. Now let me tell you Declan is a known player, so I wondered if Callie could tame his wild side and make an honest man out of him. Now you just have to read the book to know!

I loved that the characters overlap in the series. Each of these books can be read as a standalone, but to fully appreciate as this family unit, you would want to read it in the series order. As like in the first two books, the epilogue in this book is a sneak peek to the next book in this series. Easy Kisses is going to be Charly and Simon’s story and I can’t wait to meet Simon! 😀 I said this before that I truly loved was that Kristen included a cameo from the couples from her With Me in Seattle series. So if you haven’t read any of Kristen’s books yet… then don’t wait, pick up the books and read it now! You really don’t want to miss reading such an amazing family dynamic! Trust me go read this book!

Let me tell you once I started this book, I had a very hard time putting it down. There was so many things I love about this book, and trust me I loved Trent and Rowan. Trent is just a perfect book boyfriend, he stole my heart and effortlessly wiggled his way into my heart.  Rowan is one of my favorite kind of heroine and trust me she is a force to be reckoned with. She is smart, hardworking and completely committed to building a better life for herself and her family. She takes so much care of everyone else and she never stops to worry about herself. Rowan is one quick witted, sensitive and strong but sure she is a little broken, imperfect, and reeling from a lifetime of emotional injury, but as you notice she is strong and fierce and obviously refuses to be defeated.

I connected instantly with these two characters and I loved it just so much. The relationship between these two has been perfectly and carefully crafted to make this novel important and the storyline unique to the characters. I loved to read the sibling bonds between Trace (+ Olivia) and Trent also the bonds between Rowan and her siblings. Trent’s relationship with his family is just a polar opposite to that of Rowan’s and the juxtaposition of these two realities really built the emotion of the story. I loved… loved the relationship between Rowan and Jude. It was sweet and adorable and also hysterical and had me laughing out loud a couple of times. She was herself around Jude, snarky; unapologetic and comfortable in her own skin. Now Jude and Tatum’s relationship was a whole different story and let’s just say, I’m counting down the days until I get my hands on their story!

Rowan and Trent had such an amazing chemistry, love and passion that it seeps through the pages, with all the raw emotions. I absolutely loved the narrative, it’s a second chance for both of them and boy let me tell you it was amazing. I think, like I said before I fell head over heels for Trent, giving Trace some stiff competition. Micalea deserves so much praise for writing such an amazing book.

I love reading a book that has moments of connection with a character and stories. If I can feel the emotions of a book and made me invest in their happiness; then the author has done a great job. Micalea flat out blew me away with the emotional storm that raged through this book. I grinned, laughed, shook my head in exasperation, got mad, clenched my fists and yes trust me I cried. Micalea made me feel like I’m a part of this story. Trent and Rowan felt like old friends and their story took my heart and I just know that they will never let it go. I recommend this book to everyone because this is one amazing book that will stay with a person forever and I’ll easily reread this book. I highly recommend that when you reading this book, you need to keep a box of tissues nearby because this book just pulls on a person heartstrings.

Right after I finished with Finding Olivia I made so sure got my hand onto this book and trust me it was such a good idea! I love Trace and Olivia, they are just the perfect couple. Lots of dram can happen over the years and I so did not expect Olivia’s mom to get married let alone be pregnant. Not only was her stepdad a couple years older than herself. This was one very stressful thing for Olivia being an only child for so long. Changes are happening for Trace as well. His grandfather wanting him to step up at being CEO for the company and Trace not wanting that job.

Everything just got so hard for them and they needed a break. Trace and Olivia decided to go on a road trip to find some peace again, but Trace had some ulterior motive for this road trip. It is one sweet gesture and Olivia appreciates the spontaneity because she missed all the spontaneity in their lives. These characters are just perfect for each other. They are just so romantic together and such a perfect couple for each other.

It would not be a true road trip if Trace did not throw in some surprises along the way and I tell you Trace is such a perfect and awesome dude.

I also cried in this book and I’m not embarrassed about that. 😛  This book just had so much emotions. I mean my emotions went all over the place. I loved all the characters in this novel and I wished I could read a story of Avery and Luca. Trace is incredible in this story. He loves Olivia and does everything he can to recreate their love. I think a lot of people can relate to this story, I know I did!  He just adds adventure and makes Olivia’s life just amazing again. I would easily reread this book!

Synopsis

Aideen Collins is fed up. She is at her wits’ end with her eon long pregnancy, her new-found paranoia, but mostly she is fed up with her boyfriend’s constant hovering and nit-picking.

Kane Slater is happier than ever. He is about to become a father for the first time with the woman he loves. Little does he know that Aideen is both literally and figuratively a ticking time bomb. He just has to survive a few more weeks of murderous hormonal outbursts, and all will be well… or so he hopes.

They’re both caught up with the expected arrival of their little one, but in the back of their minds is a shadow that won’t fade away. Neither of them talk about it, but the shadow’s lingering presence casts doubt over their relationship.

Big Phil worked his way into their minds many weeks ago and rooted himself as the haunting figure. Without even trying, he ruins things and causes problems. He watches them from afar, hoping he can break their family.

Aideen’s instincts to protect her own are stronger than ever. If Big Phil wants to hurt those dearest to her, he is going to have one hell of a fight on his hands.

Aideen worships Kane, and what Aideen worships, Aideen shelters.

Excerpt

“Don’t fight,” I groaned and turned into Kane’s body. “I’m too pregnant to try to stop it.”

Kane placed his hand on my hip. “Why don’t you go to bed?”

“Because if I sleep now then I’ll be awake all night.”

Nico scoffed from across the room. “Go into labour and get the brat out then.”

I snickered, “I can’t just go into labour. It will happen when it happens. I’ve two weeks left until me due date anyway, and it’s very common to go overdue… up to two weeks over, now that I think of it.”

“Oh, my God,” Alec gasped with a hand placed dramatically over his chest. “We can’t wait that long. Eight and a half months is long enough!”

Tell me about it.

“What helps induce labour?” Nico curiously asked.

I shrugged. “Long walks, spicy food, herbal teas, sex—”

“Do that!” Alec cut me off.

I snorted. “I would, but Kane won’t have sex with me.”

“What?” Alec and Nico asked in unison then looked at their brother with a mixture of shock and disgust.

Ryder and Damien looked at him with disbelieving eyes, too.

“Don’t you pricks judge me,” Kane snapped and pointed his index finger at them. “You try having sex with your girl when she is close to birthing a child. I’m fucking terrified I’ll bump his head or something… he is so low. He has a secure hold of her pussy now. It’s literally off limits. I just… I can’t touch her like that. That’s my kid’s mom!”

I rolled my eyes having heard this excuse a billion times over the last week and a half.

“Is it weird that I’m picturing what Aideen’s pussy looks like now?” Nico muttered aloud.

I gasped. “Yes, you pervert!”

“Don’t blame me,” Nico stated and looked at Kane, “he brought your pussy into it.”

The word pussy was starting to sound weird to me.

I held my hands in the air. “Let’s just stop talking about me vagina, okay? Brilliant.”

A veil of silence fell upon the room until Alec opened his mouth.

“I’ll do it if Kane won’t.”

“Bro.”

I looked at Alec with a raised eyebrow. “Are you offerin’ to have sex with me?”

“Yes,” Alec replied without hesitation. “I really want you to have my nephew… I’m willing to do anything to help bring on labour.”

Was it weird that my first reaction was to defend the gender of my unborn child as female instead of rejecting my boyfriend’s brother’s offer to bed me?

“Five seconds.”

I blinked when Kane’s voice got my attention. His body was no longer under my legs. I looked up and found Kane, who was now standing over Alec like an animal ready to attack.

Alec leaned as far back into the sofa as he possibly could. “Bro, I’m trying to help-”

“Three seconds.”

“Oh, come on, this is a sweet gesture when you-”

“One second.”

Alec jumped to his feet and exited my apartment shouting, “At least think about it,” as he ran.

“I’ve never seen him move so fast in my life.” Nico snickered. “It’s like he caught a glimpse of the Magic Mike cast and took off after them.”

I burst into unexpected laughter and laughed so hard I thought a little pee came out.

“I. Love. Your. Brothers.”

Kane looked from the sitting room door to a laughing Nico, Damien and Ryder and grunted, “I hate the bastards.”

How far would you go to find yourself?

That’s the question that’s been haunting Olivia Owens for years.

All Olivia has ever wanted to do is live and make mistakes, but her preacher father has made that impossible. She believes that her years at college will be her ticket into the real world and her chance to be wild and spontaneous.

But she’s never been able to do it on her own.

At the start of her sophomore year, she only has four things crossed off her Live List, but that’s all about to change thanks to a chance encounter with Trace Wentworth. She’s about to learn that there’s more to this reformed bad boy than just his looks and panty dropping smile.

Trace can’t explain what it is that draws him to Olivia.

All he knows is that he wants to get to know the girl with the sad smile but sparkle in her eyes.

When she tells him about her list, he knows that this is his chance to get to know Olivia Owens. Trace is determined to show Olivia that she can do all the things she’s ever wanted to do. So, he begins to help her cross things off her list, even the more outlandish requests.

What happens along the way is more than what Olivia or Trace ever expected.

Love, laughs, and a list.

That’s the name of the game when you’re Finding Olivia.

5+ Rating

Okay let me first say that I read this book only after I read The Road That Leads To Us. So where do I begin with this?

Oh my goodness I loved this book so much! I loved Micalea’s writing style so much! I adore the flow and feel of the books! I’m still swooning and my heart is still pounding from the story. Trace has wiggled his way onto my book boyfriend list. The story was totally awesome, but the main reason I loved about this book is because I can relate to a lot to Olivia. Olivia was given her cards she was dealt and instead of complaining about her life, she tried to make it better. Trace helped her make her live better. He made her step out of her comfort zone, several times actually, trying to complete the list she made. The characters had such a strong chemistry from the very first page and while they were still young, they did not act like teenagers in a relationship. This was such a refreshing book.

Trace was such a yummy guy. Tattooed, in to cars, down to earth (even if his rich), his a total gentleman; his the whole package. He was like a ‘knight in shining armour’ from the very beginning and he completely stole my heart. There was so much more of him. The secondary characters were also wonderfully developed. Which made me hope for more books on the other characters.

Finding Olivia made me laugh, made me tear up and made me swoon. I fell in love with Olivia and Trace and this book was just totally amazing. I did read this book in one day and I would reread this book soon I think 😛 this book kept me interested the whole time and I walked away with a new favorite book boyfriend and love story to tell my friends about it. I would do recommend this book to anyone. I can’t wait for more from this author!
